Involvement

There are many oppourtunities to get involved with Westminster including opportunities at all of our Sunday worship services.  If you are looking for an opportunity to use your gifts, the Deacons would welcome you to participate in any of these:

Church Greeters - prior to the Sunday services 3-4 people act as greeters welcoming those who come to worship.  If you would like to help out please contact Bob Wilson at wilsonvbc@aol.com.

Transportation - We are looking for volunteers who can help us get people to and from church that can't do it on their own.  We'll find you someone close by who could share a ride.  If you can help, please contact Lynae Young at lsyoung1@comcast.net.

Information Center - our information booth at the entrance to the sanctuary is staffed during our three Sunday morning worship services.  Volunteers hand out borchures, direct people to different rooms in the church and offer general information.  If you would like to help us staff the booth contact Lynae Young at lsyoung1@comcast.net.

Westminster Meet to Eat Groups - another great way to get involved with other members of Westminster and share fellowship over a meal.  Four to five families are matched up and share a meal once a month.  Some meet out in restuarants, others get together in their homes.  Some groups involve families with kids, others don't.  Contact Sandy Liddick at liddgsa@comcast.net to sign up and find a group for you.

Worship in the Assisted Living Homes

"Worship in the Homes" is a group led by the deacons of Westminster who visit three West Chester nursing homes once every 3 months to provide fellowship. An entire service is provided including music and is open to anyone who wants to participate.  It's a tremendous opportunity to share fellowship and offer comfort.

Visits are included to Pembrook, Barclay Friends, and Brandywine Hall.  The visit dates are advertised in the Westminster Bulletin so members with family in the homes can get them to the service.

Casserole Delivery

Casseroles are made by members of the congregation and delivered to anyone in need including those who have just had a baby, or are returning from the hospital after surgery.  Anyone in the congregation is welcome to take a casserole to someone that they know in need.  Casseroles are stored in the church.

Members are always welcome to help to bake casseroles for future deliveries.  Recipes are available at the church information booth.
