Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir is the backbone of Westminster’s music program, singing for worship every week at the 9:00 and 10:30 AM services.  In addition they perform a Christmas and Spring concert with orchestra.  This choir is a wonderful group to be part of, both for the fellowship and the excellent music.

NEW MEMBERS ARE MOST WELCOME!

Our Chancel Choir is made up completely of adult volunteers, giving freely of their time and talents in service to our church. This choir leads worship at the traditional worship services. Highlights of the year  include Gospel Sunday, Festival Sundays at Thanksgiving and Christmas, our Christmas Joy Concert, Lenten Vespers and and spring program.  Every other year during the Christmas season, the choir sings at Longwood Gardens.

You are warmly invited to join the fellowship of the choir, and take part in one of the most rewarding experiences at Westminster.

Rehearsals are Thursday nights with an occasional Saturday morning rehearsal before special programs.

During June and July there is a SUMMER CHOIR which meets at 8:30 AM to rehearse for the 9:00 AM service.  This pick-up group is informal (no robes), singing easy and familiar anthems.

Highlights for the 2009-2010 season will be our annual Christmas Concert performances "And The Stars Sang" on Saturday, December 12 at 2:00pm and 5:00pm and Sunday, December 13 at 3:00pm and 6:00pm.  Another highlight will be the Chancel Choir singing along with The Kennett Symphony on Saturday, April 24, 2010 with performances at 3:00pm and 8:00pm.

YOUTH CHOIR  

Grades 6 to 12

Sundays 11:30 to 12:00 PM and Wednesday once a month.

Youth Choir participates in worship throughout the year, and takes a trip at the end of the year.  Come to our kick-off rehearsal, 6:00 PM Wednesday, September 9th, and be part of this fun, exciting group.  Rehearsals are every Sunday morning September through May and once-a month on Wednesday nights (with pizza!).    Directors: Bob Morris and Glenn Kinckner.

CHILDREN'S CHOIRS

Cherub Choir - Cherubs are led by Virginia Fester.  Your kids are going to love singing!  Age 4 to Kindergarten   Cherub Choir meets from 4:30 to 5:15 PM every week on Wednesdays.

Kids Jam Choir (Kids, Jesus and Music) - Grades 1-5.  A program combining music and Bible lessons, songs and sharing, games and fellowship.  Kids JAM choir sings and plays for worship throughout the year.  They present a high energy, spirit-filled musical at the end of each semester (December and May).  Rehearsals for the musicals are incorporated into the regular Wednesday choir program.  The Christmas musical will be Sunday, December 20, 2009 at 4:00PM.  The Spring musical is scheduled for Sunday, May 2, 2010 at the 9:00 and 10:30 worship services.  Directed by Bob Morris and Glenn Kinckner (music@westminsterpc.org), children will use singing, Orff Instruments, drums and chimes to learn God’s message of love and salvation for all.   Rehearsals are every Wednesday 4:30 to 6:00 PM.
