Outreach From Westminster
|
Our Mission As part of our worship at Westminster Presbyterian Church we seek opportunities to reflect the light of God’s love out into the world. |
What We Do
We Give Joyfully
We commit to funding and supporting many Christian ministries and charitable organizations, locally, nationally and globally. Our concern for those who have not heard the Gospel, the poor, the hungry, the young and the old, the homeless, the sick and the oppressed, is reflected in our annual Outreach budget.
We are committed annually to support missions undertaken by our denomination, the Presbyterian Church (USA) through our contributions to the Presbytery, Synod and General Assembly.
Westminster participates in 4 special offerings throughout the year:
- Souperbowl of Caring offering - on Super Bowl Sunday to fight hunger and poverty in local communities
- One Great Hour of Sharing offering - during Lent to fund Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, the Presbyterian Hunger Program and Self-Development of People
- Peacemaking Offering - on World Communion Sunday in October to support peacemaking initiatives and peace education throughout the church
- Joy Offering - at Christmas to support retired and active church workers and their families and also support Presbyterian-related racial ethnic education
We Demonstrate The Kingdom Of God
We provide opportunities for people to use their gifts and give of themselves and their time in the service of others. As close as West Chester or as far as Honduras, you can find opportunities to demonstrate the Kingdom of God.
How can you do this?
- By using your time and talents to help others. Check out our Service Page to find where and how you can volunteer locally or far afield.
- By connecting with organizations that speak out for the rights of the poor, the hungry, children, human rights, the environment, etc. Check out our Advocacy Page to find organizations that you can support.
