Stephen Ministry is a lay caregiving ministry that similar to pastoral care. A Stephen Minister is someone who feels called by God to care in the name of Christ, to be used by God to bring hope to a person in need. They ‘walk with’ their care receiver in a 1-1 caring confidential relationship, providing emotional support and spiritual encouragement for as long as is necessary. Typically, Stephen Ministers meet once a week with their care receiver to listen, pray, and be with them.

Stephen Ministers receive 50 hours of intense training. They meet with the Stephen Ministry Leadership twice a month for supervision, continuing education, and mutual support. This is a serious commitment, one agreed to with joy!
