Helping people find freedom from hurts, habits, and hang-ups including addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors.

The purpose of Westminster Presbyterian Church’s Celebrate Recovery ministry is to fellowship and celebrate God's healing power in our lives through the 8 Recovery Principles and 12 Steps. This experience allows us to be changed. We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another. As we grow, we discover there is only one Higher Power who can save us — Jesus Christ. We become willing to accept God´s grace in our past, present and future. By working and applying these Biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. Allowing God to change us from the inside out, we become free from our addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors. This new freedom creates peace, serenity, joy and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with our loving and forgiving God.

What is CR?

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-Centered ministry where people can find God’s healing and strength to face and move beyond their hurts, habits, or hang ups. This ministry is for anyone struggling with past or current dysfunctions or compulsions, whether they are affecting their own life or the lives of those around them.

Celebrate Recovery is an umbrella 12-Step program to help a limitless number of issues. Many of the addiction issues we deal with include alcohol addiction, drug addiction, gambling addiction, sexual addiction and food addiction. We also deal with eating disorders, love and relationship addiction, co-dependency, control issues, grief, divorce, sexual abuse, domestic violence, and anger to name a few.

Who needs CR?

CR is for anyone who wants to be transformed!

The pain of family conflicts, depression, childhood abuse or addictive behaviors can keep us from experiencing the fullness of life. We hide in shame not realizing there is a freedom that comes from transparency. Join us at Celebrate Recovery and find the freedom that creates peace, serenity, joy and a stronger relationship with God and with other people.

What to expect at a CR meeting

An evening at CR begins with a large group meeting, including worship and a lesson on one of the 12 Steps or a personal testimony. After the large group meeting, newcomers to CR may stay for Newcomer 101. This is a chance to meet with a CR leader who will explain the program in more depth and answer any questions. Anyone who has previously attended Newcomer 101 may attend an Open Share group. These same-sex groups offer a safe place to share more openly. After Open Share, we all gather for snacks and fellowship.

This is a great time to ask more questions and get connected.

Celebrate Recovery runs year-round and includes various activities every week (weather permitting). You choose which activities meet your recovery needs.

It’s hard to admit you don’t have life altogether, but remember, everyone at CR has already done just that. We hope you will join us on a journey to recovery. Just take that first step and join us!

Celebrate Recovery meets every Thursday from 7:00-9pm over Zoom
