Christmas Joy Offering

Westminster and churches all over the world will deliver the message of hope and forgiveness that is embodied in the birth of Christ. For over 70 years, Presbyterians celebrated the birth of our Savior by giving a special Advent offering known as the Christmas Joy Offering. This offering distributes gifts equally to the Assistance Program of the Board of Pensions, which provides critical assistance to Presbyterian church workers and their families, and Presbyterian affiliated racial ethnic schools and colleges, which enable students to develop their gifts and find their calling to serve God through serving their community. Again and again, the individuals and families helped by this offering say that, as crucial as the financial assistance is, what really sustains them is the knowledge that the church is standing with them in their time of need. Learn more about these programs. Last year, Westminster members and friends gave $15,120 to the Christmas Joy Offering. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to increase our giving this year! Please consider giving to support these very worthwhile ministries. You will find special Christmas Joy envelopes for this offering in all the pew racks in the Sanctuary or click here to donate.

Recycle Your Christmas Lights!

Starting Sunday through Epiphany on January 6, we're collecting old, broken Christmas lights for a recycling program. If the idea of all those lights ending up in a landfill does not feel right to you, here is how to participate. Bring all your old, broken Christmas lights and deposit them in one of the collection bins located in Spellman Hall or in the Narthex. We will ship the lights to a recycling company. Any proceeds from the recycling process will be used to buy books, educational games, and puzzles, which will be donated to Toys for Tots. Questions?
